Elvin H. "Tiger" Niemann, 79, Route 1, Nortonville, a former member of the Kansas Legislature, died Friday at a Topeka hospital after he suffered an apparent heart attack.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church with burial in Nortonville Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today at O'Trimble Funeral Home in Nortonville. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour preceding the services. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Nortonville.

Mr. Niemann was born Nov. 19, 1906 at Nortonville, the son of Charles and Elizabeth Kloepper Niemann. He was a farmer and served in the Legislature from 1953 to 1957.

On Nov. 19, 1935, he married Eshter Johnson at Nortonville. She survives.

Mr. Niemann was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and Lutheran Layman's League at Nortonville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Arliss Krieger, Fort Worth, Texas, and Mrs. Emily Nolting, Nortonville; three sons, Charles Niemann, Modesto, Calif., and Bill Niemann and Eric Niemann, both of Nortonville; a foster daughter, Mrs. Alice Wilkerson Noll, Winchester; a foster son, John Bloomstron, Nortonville; two brothers, Carl Niemann, Cheyenne, Wyo., and Jim Nemann, Nortonville; and 13 grandchildren.
