BILOXI --- Joseph Mayfield, 67, died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, in Biloxi.
Mr. Mayfield was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Ocean Springs and attended Elizabeth Keyes High School in Ocean Springs. He retired from Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula in 1982.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Mayfield Sr.; mother, Elizabeth Mayfield; and a brother, Earnest Mayfield Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Mayfield of Ocean Springs; three daughters, Brittney Mayfield of Ocean Springs, Josephine Douglas of Marion, La. and Deborah Walker of Torrance, Calif.; two sons, Robert Mayfield of Biloxi and Wendell Martin of Ocean Springs; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson of Ocean Springs and Rita Joiner of New Orleans; two brothers, Robert Mayfield of New Orleans and Albert Mayfield of Fresno, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Macedonia Baptist Church, where friends may call from noon to service time. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, under the direction of the House of Richmond in Biloxi.
