Born on May 28, 1922, in Bodajk, Hungary, she married Stephan Bognar in 1949. Together with their first two children, they immigrated to the United States in 1956 and raised their four children in Boonton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephan; and is survived by her children, son, Steve and his wife, Kathy, of Maryland; sons, Alex, of Maryland and George of Washington, D.C.; and daughter, Carol and her husband, Arun, of Virginia. She also leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was an avid cook and baker, and enjoyed walking and gardening.
A memorial service was held Saturday, September 24, 2011, at The Church of Our Savior, 1165 Rio Road East, Charlottesville, Virginia.
