Daughter of Dionysius Friederich Reimer & Elisabetha Weinacht of Mutterstadt, Germany. She was the oldest of eleven children, the youngest of whom was also named Elisabetha.

She married Francis Shunk sometime between 1735 & June 1736. They had seven children all of whom reached maturity.
She was the grandmother by her son John, of the 10th governor of Pennsylvania, Francis Rawn Shunk 1788-1848.

Elisabeth was one of the protagonists in what is dubbed as possibly the "First Ghost Story in America". Read the story at her father's memorial.
