Louise White Walton, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at Martha Jefferson Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albemarle County on August 15, 1917.

She was a loved wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and friends and lived life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis E. Walton; and her father and mother, Hunter Edward White and Annie Omohundro White.

She is survived by a son, Thomas E. Walton and his wife, Sylvia, of Charlottesville; a daughter, Peggy W. Sprouse and her husband, Jimmy, of Charlottesville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Kimberly A. Ryan of Charlottesville, Thomas C. Walton and his wife, Heather, of Crozet, J.R. Sprouse of Charlottesville, and Katie Walton Wunderler and her husband, Justin, of Hampton, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Grace Leann Walton, Ashton Ryan (a special great-grandson), and Jacob and Hunter Wunderler. She also felt she had a special second daughter, Eva Home, who took special care of her in the last few years.

Special thanks to her friends and staff at Charlottesville Health and Rehab, Bernice, Crystal, Ashley, Bessie, Sheila, Jenna and her special roommate Mrs. Coles. Also special thanks to Dr. Anya and staff on the Cornell 2nd floor at Martha Jefferson Hospital, who were dedicated to Louise's care. Also special thanks to her dear friends at JABA, Jean, Linda, Lois, Ben and Hollis.

The family received friends Friday, September 23, 2011, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service was held Saturday, September 24, 2011, at the Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church with Pastor Rosemary Welch and Pastor Jeff Kemper officiating.
