Rosalie Brown Clarke, 72, passed away peacefully but unexpectedly from a brain tumor on Saturday, December 18, 2010.

She was born November 5, 1938, to Arthur and Orba Ellis Brown of North Ogden. She was the oldest of four children. She attended North Ogden Elementary, Wahlquist Jr. High, and Weber High School, graduating exactly 30 years after her father and 30 years prior to her son.

She worked at the North Ogden cannery as a young girl, and then the Credit Bureau of Ogden where she learned many secretarial skills and met her future sister-in-law. She then worked at Weber State Registration Office until she became a full time mom. Later in life she worked as a school secretary at Hooper and Midland Elementary Schools where she was dearly loved.

Rosalie and Don Edward Clarke were married on August 22, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple by Apostle Mark E. Petersen. They had 3 children. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother anyone could ask for. The most important things in her life were her family and the Gospel. Her 12 grandchildren each thought they were her favorite. Many hours were spent telling stories and teaching each of them how to stitch, sew, garden and enjoy the beauties of life. Each day of her life was spent in service to others as she showed Christ like love to all.

She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as the Junior Sunday School Coordinator for 17 years, ward and stake Relief Society President, and taught in all of the organizations. She was a faithful visiting teacher all of her life. She was also a ward and stake genealogy specialist and secretary to the Patriarch. Her love of the gospel was shared with others through 5 LDS missions with her husband: Temple Square, Canada Halifax, Temple Square Airport, Utah Ogden, and Cove Fort. She served as secretary to the president in most of her missions.

She was preceded in death by her son Corry Don and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Don Clarke; her children: Donette Crayton, (Stephen and Brenda Grange), and Layne (Diana) Clarke, all of Taylor; grandchildren: Kaelani, Glen, Bridger, Colby, Kailee (Ian), Timber, Jessica, Jenna, Alexis, Jaden, Hanna, and Jordan; brother, Frank (Judith); sisters, Catherine (Ron) Hancock, and Sandra Brown (Rich Douglas). She will be dearly missed by all of them.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 22nd at the Ogden West Stake Center, 2200 S. 4300 W. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, December 21st at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 – 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Stake Center from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Interment, West Weber Cemetery.
