Funeral services for Julius Alford, 16, of 3290 Persimmon, a junior at South Oak Cliff High School, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Longview, Gregg County. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Longview [Gregg Co.--cemetery actually in Harrison Co.].
Alford died Thursday [June 7] when he was shot during a quarrel with another youth. The shooting occurred after the two argued over which tape recording to play on the stereo.
A native of Gregg County, he had been a Dallas resident nine months.
Survivors include four sisters, two brothers, his maternal grandmother and his paternal grandparents.
