Obituary from Star Valley Independent (Afton, WY) - Thursday, May 10, 1962:

Frederick Beyeler, custodian at the Menan ward chapel, died Friday, April 27, of a heart attack at the chapel. Mr. Beyeler, 70, had been employed as custodian for the past six years.

He is the son of Fredrick Beyeler, Sr. and Rosina Rohrer Beyeler. He was born June 28, 1891 at Paris, Idaho. He spent his early life on the Hunt ranch with his parents and two brothers. He attended school in the Paris Elementary School and later the Fielding Academy. When he was 16 years old he went to Crow Creek to herd cattle for Bishop Hunt.

On June 28, 1911, at Wardboro, Idaho, he married Lena Margaret Watson. This marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. He homesteaded on Crow Creek, Caribou County, Idaho and later bought additional land there. He rode the Caribou Cattlemen's Association on summer. He fed cattle for Pugmires on the Bear Lake Bottoms and herded these cattle on the summer range. In 1925 he and his family started to live on the Crow Creek ranch the year around. He had a successful dairy business and later ran sheep and beef cattle.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He taught Sunday School for many years, was Sunday School superintendent, ward teacher supervisor, advisor to the Senior Aaronic Priesthood. He worked in the temple and also spent much time in genealogy work. He was a high priest at the time of his death.

The Beyelers sold their ranch in January 1953, and in June of the same year he and his wife were called to serve as missionaries in the Swiss Austrian Mission. They spent an enjoyable 30 months in Switzerland where Fred visited the birthplace of his parents. The highlight of their mission was when they were privileged to work in the Swiss Temple. They helped prepare the building for use and later officiated in it at the time of the dedication.

Upon returning from their mission they chose to make their home in Menan, Idaho, close to the temple and where one son, Max, and family lived. They made many friends in Menan and enjoyed living there.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Lena Beyeler, Menan, Idaho; children: Mrs. Harvey (Virginia) Kennington, Fairview, Wyoming; Max Beyeler, Leadore, Idaho; Gordon Beyeler, Sun Valley, California; Mrs. Dale (Fay) Call, Hyattsville, Maryland; Ray Beyeler, Dingle, Idaho. One son, Elmo, preceded him in death. Two brothers, Charles Beyeler, Fish Haven, Idaho and Leo Beyeler, Malta, Idaho, also survive him.

Funeral services were conducted in the Menan LDS Ward Chapel, Tuesday, May 1 with a large number of Star Valley people among those attending. Interment was in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery.
