Naomi Rose Androchek, 71, of Chambersburg, died Saturday, August 29, 2009 in her home.
Born January 17, 1938 in Pine Grove, WV; she was a daughter of the late Glen and Blanch Jackson Kendall.
She was a member of Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post # 1599, Burt J. Asper American Legion Post # 46, Hume McNeil Byers AmVets Post # 224, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of the Vietnam War Post # 41, all in Chambersburg. Naomi was a seamstress and her hobbies were, sewing, gardening, caring for roses and collecting glass shoes. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Welsh, Sr., Robert Baker, and Dan Androchek, a son, Melvin Welsh, Jr., a step daughter Deb Androchek, and six brothers, Jerry "Bill", Stanley, Wilbert, Don, Ronald, and John are also deceased.
Surviving are two sons, Mark Welsh, of Chambersburg, and Gordon "Ike" Welsh, of Mercersburg; a daughter, Rose M. Hawk, of Jonestown; a step son, Brian Androchek, of Chambersburg; two sisters, Wilma Sipes, of Chambersburg, and Dixie Hoover, of Hustontown; a brother, Jackie Kendall, of St. Thomas; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2009 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 10 A.M. Officiating will be The Rev. Floyd Myers. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. The viewing will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and Friday one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 417 A Phoenix Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
