OSCAR CAMPBELL, WELL-KNOWN MAN, IS BECKONED AWAY
OSCAR G. CAMPBELL, age 84, wealthy, retired farmer of the Deer Creek, Carroll County, Indiana vicinity passed away at 7:30 o’clock last Sunday evening at the Cass County Hospital in Logansport, Indiana, following a lengthy illness. He was the son of Spencer and Elizabeth Campbell, and spent his entire life in Carroll County, amassing a large estate as a farmer in Washington Township, Carroll County. His wife preceded him in death. For several years he had been a member of the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Howard Smith of Delphi, Indiana; Mrs. Delbert McCloskey, Mrs. Orville Hinkle and Mrs. Willard McCloskey, all of near Deer Creek; a son, Willard Campbell of near Deer Creek; 13 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a legion of friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock at the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church, with the pastor, the Reverend O.L. Ramsey, in charge. Burial was in the Deer Creek Cemetery.
