MRS. CHARLES A. WINSLOW
Mrs. Helen Holt Winslow, 86, widow of Charles A. Winslow, a life-long resident of Bennington, died at Putnam Memorial Hospital Wednesday afternoon. She had been a patient at the hospital since last Friday.
The daughter of Samuel and Esther Downs Holt, she was born in Bennington Sept 10, 1874. Her schooling had been received here. At one time she was employed in the old Rockwood plant. she was married to Mr. Winslow at Bennington and he died 50 years ago. Her home and family had been her main interests.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Sherman (Clara) Sweet, Mrs. Leo (Helen) Plante, Mrs. Harold (Elizabeth) Andrew, all of Bennington; Mrs. Glenn (Esther) Lane, South Shaftsbury; four sons, John Winslow, Bennington; Robert Winslow, Pittsfield, Mass.; Horace, Auburn, N.Y. and Charles of Everett, Mass.; 34 grandchildren; 70 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; a stepbrother, Fayette Denio, Bennington; also nieces, nephews and a cousin, Mrs. Grace Patterson, Pownal.
The funeral will be held from Mahar Funeral Home Saturday at 2 pm. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm today and then at their convenience. Entombment will be in Park Lawn chapel and burial will be in the family lot in Old Bennington Cemetery in the spring.
