Judy and Terry Truesdell were replacing the walkway in front of their Niles home Tuesday when they discovered something they didn't expect during a pretty routine household project — a 153-year-old tombstone.
They overturned a large piece of marble they had walked across hundreds of times in the 40 years they have owned the home and found the following inscription: "Jane: wife of T. McKibbin Died Aug. 20, 1858 Age 82."
Judy said she and her husband, who have lived in their home at 23 Market St. in Niles since 1971, had always wondered about the large marble slab. The Truesdells contacted Silverbrook Cemetery, and it doesn't have anyone with Judy's name in its records.
The Truesdells' home was built in 1855 and was first owned by Nathaniel Bacon, a prominent Niles attorney who died in 1928.
What will the Truesdells do with the unusual find? "I'm not sure," Terry said. "We've had people suggest that we plant it in the ground here. But I'm not sure what we'll do with it." The Truesdells are unsure if the remains are buried on their property.
This story even made it on CNN. Here is the video link:

With a little digging on Ancestry.com my mom and I were able to find her and where she was buried.
