Mary Polachak Shenk, 78, of Highland, died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011.
Born Aug. 30, 1933, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Margaret and John Polachak. She was the wife of Fred Hollis Shenk.
She was an active charter member of the St. Louis Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children Timothy, Michael, Martha and John Shenk, Margaret Cockran, and Patricia Jackson; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother; and two sisters.
She was predeceased by a son, James Shenk.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home, 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
