Adam was born May 21, 1826 in Lafayette, Medina Co., Ohio son of Tobias Moore. He died Dec. 22, 1918 at Bloomer, aged 92 years, 7 months and 1 day and was buried there in the Bloomer Cemetery. His gravestone is inscribed “Adam Moore Co. I 46 Ohio Inf.” and “Father Adam 1826 – 1918 Mother Hannah 1844 – 1921.”
On June 30, 1864 Adam was united in marriage to Hannah Andrews at Beaver, PA. Hannah was born in 1844 and died Nov. 24, 1921 at Bloomer aged about 77 years and was buried there in the family plot in the Bloomer Cemetery. Their known children listed by Adam on a form dated April 16, 1898 and found in his pension file, were: James Arthur, b. 14 May 1865; Estella Grace, b. 30 May 1870; Emma Alice, b. 23 Aug 1874; Lillie Maria, b. 18 Mar 1881; & Bessie Maud, b. 15 May 1888.
