Agnes was born about 1821 in Barony parish, Lanarkshire county, Scotland, then a rural area which has long since been engulfed by city of Glasgow.

On 29 Jan 1841, in Neilston, Renfrewshire county, Scotland she married Samuel Campbell. The lived in Scotland having three children there; Mary Ann, Samuel Jr, and Elizabeth Alice.

On 2 Sep 1849, they family boarded the ship, the James Pennell, and sailed for New Orleans, arriving 22 Oct. They ultimately made their way to Otoe county, Nebraska sometime after 1855. In Nebraska, two more children were born; John H and Lilly Jane (Jennie).

Samuel died in Otoe county on 1 Jan 1887. The next year, on a visit to her daughter Elizabeth and husband, Oliver H Bohon, Agnes died. The Bohons took her body back to Otoe to be buried with Samuel in Camp Creek cemetery, Otoe county, Nebraska.
