Lonnie Spires, 39, of Gaston, S.C., died Sunday, January 10, 1993, at his residence.
The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Culler Funeral Home, with the Rev. William R. Cullum officiating. Burial was in Spires Family Cemetery, Neeses.
Pallbearers were Mark Napier, Randy Sturkie, John Hoffman, Glenn Jumper, John Tyson, Wayne Miller, Angus Miller and Wayne Mitchum.
Mr. Spires was born in Orangeburg County, a son of the late John Robert Spires and Mary New Spires. He was employed by Gaston Copper Recycling Corp., was a Mason and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in West Columbia. He was married to the late Jacklyn Miller Spires.
Survivors include a son, Samuel W. Spires of Washington, DC; three daughters, Mrs. Janice Tedder and Mrs. Helen Kaney, both of Lexington, and Nikki Spires of Gaston; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Owens of Gaston and Mrs. Lorene Swangert of Wellford; three brothers, Robert Spires, Leroy Spires, and Randy Spires, all of Lexington; and six grandchildren.
Culler Funeral Home of North was in charge.
