Mary Frances Friar, age 89, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 7:35 a.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011, in the Lincoln Community Nursing Home in Lincoln, Missouri. She was born Janurary 29, 1922, in Everton, Missouri, the daughter of Fred and Grace (Jones) Jones.

Mary workded at Hobbs Store for several years before going to work at the Missouri Rehabilitation Center in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, where she retired from after 25 years as a dietitian. She was a 61 year member of the Benjamin Elliott Stockton Post #120 American Legion, in Miller, a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter #202 OES and was a member of the Miller First Baptist Church. On September 24, 1940, she married Quentin O. Friar in Ash Grove, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2007.

In later years Mary also worked with her husband, Quentin, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home.

Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Sherry Friar of Warsaw, Missouri; granddaughter, Alisha Holt and her husband, Jeremy of Lincoln, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Rakaylah, Eastynn, and Daveigha Holt, and two step great-grandchildren, Ben and Austin Holt all of Lincoln, Missouri; four sisters-in-law, Eileen Jones, Esther Jones, Carol Jones and Flavia Friar, and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and son Gary Friar, six brothers, Norman, Weldon, George, Lester, Fred Jr. and John Jones also preceded her in death.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, in the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller, Missouri, with burial at the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00-12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Shiloh Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
