John Legro-"He was known to be a resident in town as early as 1773, and was the first settler on the farm now owned by Stephen Dixon. He built a grist mill a short distance Easterly from his house. This mill stood on land now owned by Wm. A. Corson, where one of its sills could be seen a few years ago, occupying its original position. This mill was what was called an "overshot mill" and for want of water only worked springs and falls or after heavy rains. In 1781, he sold this mill to Mr. Hasey who after letting it stand till 1792, took it down and hauled it away. Mr. Legro lived upon the place until his death. He was an old man at its occurence. He was buried in the Camp Hill Burying Ground." A History of the Town of Lebanon, Maine.
Served in the Revolutionary War.
