Alice "Ruth" Adams, 89, of Beatrice, formerly Ceresco, widow of LeRoy, died Saturday, October 8, 2011, in Beatrice. She was born May 6, 1922 in Barada, Neb. to Jay and Gladys (Severs) Rowell. Ruth was a member of Ceresco United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: daughter, Viola Shively, Beatrice; grandson, Ted Shively, Beatrice; granddaughter, Anita and Steve Lane, Waverly; great grandchildren, Stormy Shively, Sylvaughn Shively, Alex Anderson, Makayla Loftus, Andy Ackman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman and Darlene Rowell, Waterloo; Ronald and Jeannie Rowell, Florence, S.D.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Edith Riepl, Fremont; Lola and Bernard Simmerman, Omaha; Dorothy and Ken Lockwood, Fremont; Neva and Richard Ecklever, Des Moines, Iowa; Wilda and Ronald Thompson, Bushnell, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, and three aunts. Preceded in death by husband, parents, and sister, Eunice.
Funeral service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Ceresco United Methodist Church, 421 S. 2nd Street, Ceresco, with Pastor Glen Holtz officiating. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at Ceresco United Methodist Church. Burial at Sunrise Cemetery, Wahoo. Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
