Eb Hogue, a pioneer of Illinois valley, who died and was buried the last week of December, 1915 was born in Lawrence County Pennsylvania, May 10, 1831. He was married to Miss Ellen Dean May 18,1851.Crossed the plains to California and moved to Oregon in 1859, since then Mr. Hogue's time and life efforts have been spent in Illinois valley. Eb had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a host of citizens comprising the pioneers of the Illinois Valley. The passing away of Grandpa Hogue was not a surprise as he had been an invalid for a long time and required constant care. With his death another member of the pioneer band has been removed. One by one they are being taken away and soon all will be gone and we shall be left with only the memory and appreciation of their worth to the commonwealth which they have been instrumental in building up.
