William Hoyman, aged 79, a long time resident of Garrett, died last Thursday, Oct. 11, in the Somerset Community Hospital, where he had been admitted September 26, for medical treatment. Death was due to a cardiac condition. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hoyman, born February 12, 1866, in Northampton Township. His wife, Christina Keefer, died in 1924. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Mahlon Fike, Mrs. Charles Long, Mrs. Joseph Barnhart, Mrs. Alverta Knepp, Meyersdale; Calvin Hoyman, Fannie Owens, Johnstown; Lewis Hoyman, Frostburg; Roy Hoyman, Lillian Lane and Mrs. Irvin Baker, Garrett. Two sons, William and Ralph, died several years ago. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and by two half brothers, Ben Reiber of Meyersdale and L. G. Reiber of East Cleveland, OH. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Garrett Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Hoenstine officiating.
