ABBEY Funeral To Be Saturday

Last rites will be held Saturday for Elmer H. ABBEY, former resident of Fairfield who died suddenly at Lincoln, Neb., on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The services tomorrow will be at 10:00 a.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral Home with the Rev. Ned Gillum officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the grave by the American Legion.

ABBEY, whose home was at Elmwood, Neb., died of a heart attack while working at Lincoln.

Elmer Harry ABBEY, 45, was born in Fairfield, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl ABBEY Sr., who now reside at 204 E. Fillmore. He was reared and educated in Fairfield.

He was married on May 17, 1939, to Cecilia PAUL of Eddyville, Iowa. They were the parents of three sons, Rex of Omaha; Mark who lives at Des Moines; and Ronald who makes his home with Rex and family; and a daughter who died in infancy.

Cecilia ABBEY passed away on June 27, 1950.

ABBEY later married Drusilla ROYER of Nebraska City, Neb., on May 1, 1958. Their children include William Earl, 7, and Larna Gaye, 3.

Other survivors in addition to his parents and children include two brothers, M. Bruce ABEY, Boone, Iowa; and Earl ABBEY Jr., Fairfield; also his grandfather, E. B. ABBEY, Keosauqua; two stepsons and one stepdaughter; two granddaughters and three grandsons along with several nephews and nieces.
