Martin Fettig Dies After Long Residence in Bear Creek Township
Martin Fettig, resident of Bear Creek township for 61 years, passed away this morning at 72 years of age following an illness of several months.
Funeral services will be held in St. Francis church Thursday morning at 9 o'clock with burial in St. Francis cemetery following.
Mrs. Fettig was born in Saginaw October 27, 1864, coming here when a youth. He was a charter member of the local Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are five sons: Charles, Leo, Paul, William and Wilburt; five daughters, Anna and Katherine Fettig and Mrs. Patrick McDonald and Mrs. Elizabeth Pipher, of Detroit, and Mrs. W. Locke, of Petoskey; three brothers, Charles, John and Joseph, of Bear Creek township; and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hasenfuss, Mrs. John Foster, Mrs. William Lyons and Mrs. Joseph Kopp. There are 15 grandchildren.
