Ethel Allen, 87, of Ava,passed away February 4, 1994 at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Murphysboro.
She was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church In Ava, former member of the Percy Rebekah Lodge and the Ava Senior Citizen Kitchen Band.
She was born at Willisville June 10, 1908 to Henry and Eva Lively Monteith.
She married D.A. Allen April 4, 1923 at Elco, Illinois. He preceded her in death November 13, 1955.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and three grandchildren.
She is survived by six sons, Leo of Mt. Home, Arkansas, Lester of Ava, Dr. A. Allen, Jr. of Cahokia, Franklin of Osceola, Pennsylvania, James of Marco Island, Florida and Robert of Alva, Florida; two daughters, Violet Derossett of Wolf Lake and Eva Crane of Rock Falls, Illinois; several grandchildren, great-grand-children and great-great-grand-children and one sister, Bessie Bigham of Cutler.
Services were hold at 1 p.m. Sunday, February 6, 1994 at the Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava with Rev. Dan Mullin officiating. Burial was in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery.
