Returning to Illinois, she met and married N.B. Vanderhoof at Newton. Mr. and Mrs. Vanderhoof and their two sons, Fred E. and Ralph S moved to California in 1910, locating first at Sierra Madre and later in the Lamanda Park section of Pasadena.
Mrs. Vanderhoof was well known in Newton many years ago, where her father, N.S. Scovell, was city superintendent of schools. She is a sister of Mrs. B.F. Harrah of Washington, D.C., Mrs. John Dovell of Paden, Okla, and Frank Scovell of Missouri.
