Belle was born Princabelle Hallett, daughter of John and Melissa (Goodspeed) Hallett.

Belle married "Jimmy" Boyd who was a 25-year resident of East Toledo, Ohio. They spent their summers at Toledo Beach, Stop 43. Their cottage had shell curtains made from the conical shells of Lake Erie which washed up on their beach. Jimmy was an entertainer and owned many different mouth organs. Their home was always filled with guests and family. They also owned a small cottage on the lagoon across the road from their cottage that they rented out.

Belle was a conscientious member of Second Church of Christ Scientist. After Jimmy died in 1932, she worked for years as a companion & practical nurse to many Toledoans. A few years before she passed on she moved to a resident hotel in Los Angeles where the climate was easier on her. She took her first plane trip when she flew to Los Angeles, California.
