Jane Tait was born to John Tait and Ann Bradford Tait in May, 1852, in Johnstone, near the town of Paisley, in Scotland. She emigrated to the United States at the age of 18, and married miner Robert Milliken in 1870. They settled in Pennsylvania and started a family, later moving to Wyoming and then Colorado. Jane and Robert raised 8 children. Robert died in a mining accident in 1898. Jane passed away 4 Nov 1921 after a stroke.
