Funeral services for Beatrice V. Snyder, late of 521 1/2 North Frazier, were held Monday, Jan. 21 at the Florence Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating.
Nancy Sullinger and Pauline Corning, accompanied by Cindy Bond sang "The Old Rugged Cross," "Beyond the Sunset" and "Just Inside the Eastern Gate." Pallbearers were Dean Corning, Fred Sullinger, Loyal Proud, Ron Martin, Leslie Sumpter and William Pirraglia.
Mrs. Snyder died Friday, Jan. 18, at St. Thomas More Progressive Care Center, Canon City. She was born April 26, 1900 in Florence and was 79.
Mrs. Snyder had lived nearly her entire life in Florence with the exception of 15 years at Elkton, 1925 until 1940, and two years at Buena Vista. She was a cook for a time at Ft. Carson and was also a nurses aide at area nursing homes.
She was a member of the Florence Church of the Nazarene.
She was married March 29, 1920 at Canon City to Joshua Snyder. He preceded her in death in 1942 and she was also preceded by three sons and a daughter.
Survivors include six daughters, Iva Snyder, Rose Shrock and Marie Proud, all of Florence, Beatrice Wheeler of Grand Junction, Ethel Fry of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ruth McCumber of Ft. Collins.
Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Marie Spicer of Florence.
Burial was at Union Highland cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of Florence Mortuary.
