Virginia City, May 15--The sad news of Mrs. Thomas Naughten of Melrose, and formerly a resident of this city, will be read with deep regret. Mrs. Naughten had a wide acquaintance and a large circle of friends throughout this section of the country.
Mrs. Naughten was born in Ireland in the town of Athlone about 60 years ago. After her marriage to Mr. Naughten they at once moved to Atchison, Kansas, and early in 1864 they again moved and came to Alder Gulch and built a residence and boarding house in the town of Nevada.
She leaves a husband and three children. Mrs. Dick Finley of Laurin is a sister to Mrs. Naughten.
