Alaska Fowler was born August 26, 1904 in Missouri, daughter of David E. Fowler and Laura Hensley. Alaska never married.

The 1910 Federal Census for Brinton, Oklahoma (Pottawatomie County) shows Alaska Fowler, age 5, born in Missouri; living with her father, David E. Fowler, age 37, born in Missouri; and her mother, Laura, age 34, born in Missouri; and three siblings: Earl Fowler, age 9; Pearl Fowler, age 9; and Ray Fowler, age 3; all born in Missouri. The census shows that David and Laura have had five children, but only four were still living. Also living in the household was Alaska's paternal grandfather, William Pinkney Fowler, a farmer, age 70, born in Tennessee; and her paternal grandmother, Mary Ann (Myers) Fowler, age 62, born in Missouri.

The 1920 Federal Census for Sapulpa, Oklahoma (Creek County) shows Alaska Fowler, age 13, born in Missouri; living with her father, David Fowler, a farmer, age 47, born in Missouri; and her mother, Laura, age 43, born in Missouri; and five siblings: Earl Fowler, a laborer in a refining company, age 18, born in Missouri; Pearl Fowler, a laborer in a glass factory, age 18, born in Missouri; Ray Fowler, age 12, born in Missouri; Fred Fowler, age 9, born in Missouri; and Imogene Fowler, age 1 year 5 months, born in Oklahoma.

Alaska had a most successful career working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, rising to the position of Assistant Chief Operator in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Upon her retirement, she returned to her hometown of Sapulpa, Oklahoma (Creek County) to be near her family members.

Alaska died April 23, 1996 in Sapulpa and was buried there in the South Heights Cemetery near her parents and other family members.
