One of two English assistants to King Kamehameha the Great, along with Isaac Davis. Young was originally a member of Captain Simon Metcalfe's crew, the same man who later instigated the Olowalu massacre. Queen Emma, the wife of Kamehameha IV and the namesake of the Queen's Medical Center, was descended from him.
