Obituary found on page 232 of Obit Book "A" of the Van Buren County, Iowa, Genealogical Society Collection at the Keosauqua Public Library. Name and date of newspaper not given.

"Sarah Harmon, daughter of John and Hannah Harmon was born January 6, 1839, Jackson Township, Morgan Co., Ohio, and departed this life on August 21, 1924, at her son's home near Douds, at the age of 85 years, 7 months, and 15 days. She was united in marriage to George Washington Brooks on November 18, 1868.

To this union six children were born, four having preceded her in death; Ida, Oliver, George, and his twin sister. Those living are John Brooks and Mrs. Ella Zeitler, both of Douds, Iowa, one stepson, Charlie Brooks, of Oberlin, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a sister, Nancy Hale, of Milton, Iowa. She was one of a family of 14 children, moving to Iowa with her father's family when a young girl i n the year 1848." Rest of obit is missing.
