Clarinda had no biological children. However, she and John W. Wroe had an adopted son Lester LaVern Wroe, b 1886. She latterly adopted her step-son Lyle, son of Jonathan E. Burns.
Clarinda Graves, daughter of Chas. K and Mary Graves, was born at Maquoketa, Iowa, November 10, 1854, and passed away November 24, 1927 at the age of 73 years and 14 days.
She was united in marriage to J. W. Wroe who preceded her in death. She later again was married to B. B. Rogers at West Union. He too preceded her in death, and in the year 1913 she was united in marriage to J. E. Burns.
In 1894 she united with the Methodist Episcopal church at Quimby, Iowa.
Those remaining to mourn here death are her husband, two adopted boys Lester and Lyle, two half brothers, Lester in California and Harley in Nebraska, one half sister Mrs. Mary Shadle, in California, one brother Charles Graves, Volga City, two sisters, Mrs. George Fox, Volga City, and Mrs. W. E. Young of Edmond, Okla. besides many other relatives and friends.
Deceased was a very home loving woman. She was a willing worker in the church, when able, and was very cheerful even in her sickness. She aimed to look on the bright side at all times.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Churhc at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, November 26th, conducted by Rev. Rundell, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Wadena. Interment was in Hill Crest cemetery.
