Kewaunee Enterprise, May 6, 1948, Kewaunee, WI- Mrs. Charles Karl Died Monday A.M. Of Long Illness Mrs. Charles Karl, 78, a resident of the Kewaunee area for many years, died Monday morning at 10:30, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Karl. She had been ill a long time. The funeral service will be held this afternoon(Thursday)at the Karl residence in West Kewaunee. The Rev. Leonard A. Spooner will officiate and the burial is to be in the Riverview cemetery. The pallbearers will be Edwin Karl, Peter Mindak, Otto Mraz, David Trousil, Gordon Mueller and Elroy Karl. The honorary pallbearers are Howard Jacobs, Myron Mueller, Allen Karl and Frank Karl Jr. She was the former Mary Juza, and was born in Prague, Bohemia, immigrating to the United States with her parents when she was 12 years old. She had lived in the Kewaunee area ever since. She is survived by her husband; five sons and five daughters, namely, Frank, on the homestead farm; George, Sylvester, Edward, Manitowoc; Bohumil, Appleton; Mrs. Mary Mindak, Mrs. William Mueller, Kewaunee; Mrs. Frank Jacobs, Mrs. Emil Glaser, Mrs. Elmer Trousil, Manitowoc; a brother, Frank Juza of Kewaunee, and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Makovitz of Algoma; and Mrs. August Karl of Kewaunee. One son and a daughter preceded her in death.
