Bradie MANNS, 78, of 808 E. Main St., Akron, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday at Hickory Creek, Rochester.

Born July 19, 1925, in Carey, Ohio, to Mitchell and Gracie Barnett Manns, he lived in the Akron area most of his life. On Feb. 14, 1946, he married Oma Hackworth in Prestonburg, Ky. She survives.

He was a maintenance man at Honeywell Inc., Wabash. A member of the Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake, he was a talented musician who played the banjo and guitar. He loved to tinker with small engines in his spare time and was an avid CBer.

Survivors include his wife, Oma Manns, Akron; two daughters, Delores Dague and husband Joe, Kewanna, and Diann Grube and husband Wayne, Rochester; two sons, Dewayne Manns and wife Carolyn, Yantis, Texas, and Dewight Manns and wife Carolyn, Akron; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar Manns, Akron, and Carmel Manns and wife Opal, Akron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, one nephew and one sister-in-law.

His funeral service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Frank Whitaker officiating. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fulton County Transpo.
