Joseph W. Wiltermood of Opedee, this township, died at 4 o'clock last Sunday morning, October 13, 1901, after an illness of several weeks. The deceased was born April 5, 1835, his age being 66 years, 6 months, and 8 days. He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Stakley, January 14, 1858. To them were born 8 children - 5 sons and 3 daughters. One son and 2 daughters have passed away. Mr. Wiltermood united with the Presbyterian Church in 1863, and always tried to live a consistent Christian, and we believe was prepared to meet his God.

He is survived by his wife, Atty. John A. Wiltermood of Clinton, Jacob F. Wiltermood, William Wiltermood, and Mrs. William M. Shelato of this place. The funeral occurred at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at the Opedee School House, Rev. John S. Brown, a U.B. Minister, preaching the discourse, after which his remains were interred in the Wimsett Cemetery, adjoining the schoolyard.
