Services for Mrs. Alta Fricke, 74, of Creighton, who died Jan. 13 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital, Creighton were held Jan 16 at Hengstler's Chapel, Creighton, with Rev. Peter Quiring officiating. Darrell Keck sang, accompanied by Mrs. Russell Sorensen.

Mrs. Fricke was born July 25, 1890, 5 and 1/2 miles southwest of Creighton in Antelope County to Mr. and Mrs. H.C. Elwood. She attended Creighton High School and also graduated from Wayne State College after which she taught school for several years.

She married H.A. Fricke Sept. 18, 1912. They lived on a farm west of Winnetoon until his death. In April 1946, she moved to Creighton to live with her daughter, Lavon Neuhaus and grandson, Gary of Norfolk, who survive her.

She and her daughter operated the Flower Basket for several years and later she purchased it and operated it by herself.

She joined the Congregational Church after moving to Creighton and was active in the choir and the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the Past Matrons.

Other survivors include a sister, Mrs. Elva Van Deveer, three brothers, Ira of Batesland, S.D, Lyman of Creighton and Lynn of Gordon. Her parents, her husband, a sister, Mrs. Edna Eckerman and a brother, Sumner preceded her in death.
