Actor. Forlong was a child actor who appeared in the 1968 film, "Lionheart" as 'Andrew Fowler.' He also appeared in the film, "Hijack" in 1975.
A TV reporter who faked a news broadcast on the war in Iraq is believed to have committed suicide.

James Forlong, 44, who was forced to resign over the story, is understood to have hanged himself.

The former Sky corrrespondent's false report, which was broadcast by stations worldwide during the conflict, purported to show the live firing of a cruise missile.

The reporter died weeks after he applied to the Prince of Wales for the job of press secretary. He was unsuccessful, and friends say it was the final blow for Mr Forlong, who resigned from Sky in July.

He leaves a widow and two children, Katie, 12, and Chris, a teenage boy with Down's syndrome. He lived in Hove, where he killed himself at the weekend.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that a 44-year-old man from Hove was found dead at his address at 2.30am on Saturday.

"The circumstances were not thought to be suspicious. A postmortem is due to be carried out tomorrow."

A source at Sky said: "The newsroom is absolutely devastated. James was really popular in the newsroom with everyone. It is a real tragedy, particularly for his wife Elaine and his family. He was always regarded as a good journalist."

Nick Pollard, Head of Sky News, said: "This is a terrible personal tragedy and a shocking blow for James's family. Everyone here sends their deepest sympathies to James's wife and children."

A spokesman for Prince Charles said: "We are very saddened to hear the news."

Mr Forlong resigned from Sky following an internal inquiry. Mark Sharman, deputy managing director of Sky Networks, who chaired the inquiry, admitted the report from Royal Navy submarine HMS Splendid was unacceptable.

Mr Forlong said at the time: "It was, in 10 years of unblemished service with the company, a single lapse of judgment which for me is a source of deep regret."

The report, which was also broadcast on ITV News and was "security cleared" by a Ministry of Defence official, was revealed to be fake by the presence on board of a BBC documentary team at the time.

The pictures of the missile firing were said to be library footage with the crew simply re-enacting their drill for the camera.
