Died- in Abingdon, Ill. Saturday morning, Dec. 26, Mrs. Frances Edwards, aged 99 years and 11 months. Mrs. Edwards was born in Augusta County, Va., and passed the first part of her life there. She has resided in this place for about twenty years with her daughter Mrs. Andrews, and was undoubtedly the oldest person that has ever lived or died in or about Abingdon. For many years and up to her death the deceased enjoyed a rich Christian experience. The funeral discourse was preached at the M. H. Church on the last Sunday morning, by the Rev. James Hanes.
