Death of Jesse P. Taft,
Jesse P. Taft who would have been 27 years of age in April, son of Ethan Taft, died Saturday Last at about three in the morning. He had been gradually failing with that dread disease consumption. The funeral was held Sunday at the House, and was conducted by Rev. P. R. Parrish of the M. E. church.

Son of Ethan and Mary Taft was born April 16, 1864, at Westfield, PA. He had lived in Midland eleven years where he married June 30, 1887 to Miss Cora E. Kitchen. He died Feb. 8, 1890, After a lingering illness of more than two years, which defied all medical skill. His young wife is left with a little child, Orvel R. Taft, 13 months old.
Mr. Taft was a kind husband and father and dutiful son.
Two brothers, S. B. and Ethan E. are in Oregon. Mrs Wm. Steward is a sister. A sister, Dora E., Two years old, died in 1862. Matie R., aged 22 died Sept. 22, and the wife of Ethan E., Mrs. Lulu Taft, died June 6, 1889, age 19.
