Ross S. "Doc" Lahew, 64, of Waynesburg RD 3, died Monday, Dec. 11 at 11:10 p.m. in the Oakland V.A. Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a long illness.

He was born March 12, 1914, at Waynesburg, the son of the late David and Helen Bradford Lahew. On July 4, 1951, he married Sara June Groves, who survives.

He was a retired custodian and was employed by the Central Greene School District. He was a veteran of WW II, having served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater.

He was a lifetime resident of Waynesburg. He was a Protestant by faith.

He was a lifetime member of the Greene County Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans; he was also a member of the James F. Farrell Post of the American Legion.

He was a member of the Waynesburg VFW, the Waynesburg Moose Lodge and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Ross G., of Waynesburg, one grandson, Chay, at home; three brothers, Albert, of Waynesburg, Blair, of Rogersville, and Jack, of Orlando, Fla.; five sisters, Winefred Barna, of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Francis "Freda" O'Rourke, of Waynesburg, Mrs. Orville "Viola" Pyle, of Fairmont, W.Va., Mrs. John "Betty Jean" Hilderbrand of Canonsburg, and Mrs. Anna Furman, Butler. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
