Minden, Nebraska; July 1915:
Anna Newman was born in Germany June 5, 1829. She was united in marriage at the age of 24 years. Two sons were born of this union, both dying in infancy. Her husband passed away after four years of their married life.
She was married again in 1860 to William (Wilhelm) F. Grams. To this union were born five children, three girls and two boys, one daughter dying in 1870 at 11 years of age. Her husband passed away in 1890.
In 1891, with her two youngest, she came to this country to join her eldest son and daughter who came to this part of the country a few years before. She made her home with each of her children until in 1895, when her eldest daughter, Mrs. Julia Knappert passed to the great beyond.
Since then she has made her home with her son, John Grams.
She had been of ill health for almost three years and the last few weeks she has been sinking rapidly till at last she was called by death July 9, 1915, aged 86 years, 1 month, 4 days.
She is mourned by the surviving children, Mrs. Rosalia Cornelius of Kearney, Chris and John Grams of Minden, thirteen grand-children, and a host of friends.
The funeral was held Sunday at 2 P.M. from the home and at 5 P.M. at St. John's church of Minden.
The remains were laid in their last resting place in the Minden cemetery.
