- HARTSVILLE - The Rev. Aaron Tyner Jr., 67, died Dec. 29, 1991, in a Hartsville hospital. Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Revs. Aubrey Floyd, Don Purvis, Jerry St. John and Mickey Caison officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is in charge.
- The Rev. Tyner was born in Hartsville, a son of the late Aaron and Elmer Rogers Tyner. He graduated from Hartsville High School, Wingate College, Furman University and Golden Gate Seminary and held pastorates in California and the Carolinas. He was director of missions for the Screven Baptist Association in South Carolina and the Union Baptist Association in North Carolina. His last pastorate was at Lando Baptist Church.
- Survivors are daughters, Deborah Tyner of Charleston, Charlene Powers and Meigan Miller, both of Rock Hill; sisters, Mrs. Jessie Meehan, Mrs. Armeta Robertson; three grandchildren.
