Mrs. Edwin G. Steele, 78, of 5323 Merrimac, former chairman of the board of Sutton, Steele, and Steele, Inc., sorting machine manufacturers, died here Wednesday.
Mrs. Steele was born in Dallas and reared in Sherman. She had been a counselor at the Hockaday School for girls and a staff member for the American Red Cross. She also was a member of the Church of the Incarnation and served as a volunteer worker at its Thrift House. She had lived in Dallas for 50 years.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. John D. Merrill of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Adele Ryan of Dallas;, three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Sparkman's Funeral Chapel, 2115 Ross. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in West Hill Cemetery in Sherman.
