Elvin Thompson, 87, West Allis, Wis., and formerly of Crookston and Climax, died Friday, Jan. 12, 1990, in Lutheran Home for the Aging in Wauwatosa, Wis.

Burial was at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milwaukee.

Elvin Thompson was born March 25, 1902, in Vineland Township Polk County, Minn., near Climax, the son of Peder A. and Maria Thompson. He was a carpenter in Crookston and West Allis and operated a restaurant in Milwaukee. He also worked for many years with the Schlitz Brewery. On June 13, 1925, he married Frances Ergeson in Crookston. They moved to Milwaukee in 1927 and to West Allis a few years later, Frances Thompson died in 1984.

Survivors are his brother, Palmer, West Allis; sister, Mable (Mrs. E.S.) Benson, Seattle, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Thorvald, Marthenius, Henry, Arthur, John, Olaf, Peter, Hans and Marcus, and by sisters, Helene, Klara, Bertha Hanstad, Thea Peterson, Magda Moen and Esther Rarick.
