Actor. Born Andrew Butler in Brentwood, New York, he would share his childhood with his mother Carmen, a step father and five siblings. A tough young man in his acting and his personal life, he would share his talent in movies such as, "Marathon Man" (1976), "Andy Warhol's Bad" (1977), "All that Jazz" (1979), "Going in Style" (1979), and "Fort Apache the Bronx" (1981). His final acting appearance would be the television show of Miami Vice in 1984 playing Carlos Mendez. Being a troubled youth, he would rack up more than thirty charges of crime consisting of assault, robbery, drug possession and grand larceny. While in jail he met writer Miguel Pinero, he would write a play about their shared prison experiences. "Short Eyes" Tito portrayed "Cupcakes,". It was made as a film in 1977. In 1985, a year after his last appearance, Tito and one of his brothers was arrested for a 1978 murder of Rudy Trevino. Police theorized that Tito and Trevino were arguing at a north Austin disco, following him to a restaurant and shooting him once in the heart with a rifle. Tito would waive extradition charges in February and return to Texas from New York. While awaiting trial and out on bond pending his trial for this murder, Tito would succumb to cirrhosis of the liver, his brother, a co-defendant, was convicted for the offense in 1997 and received a prison sentence of 20 years. Tito Goya was buried in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery in Austin, Texas.
