Lee Roy Anderson, 77, died Saturday morning at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital where he had been hospitalized for three days. He was a patient at the Corydon Hospital before entering the Clarinda Hospital.
Mr Anderson was born on March 11, 1884, the son of Mr and Mrs William W. Anderson, the family home was in the Pleasant Ridge Community in Page County. He had spent the majority of his lifetime in Page County, moving to near Derby, Ia, about ten years ago where he had farmed until the time of his illness. Mr Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church, his family being one of the founders of the Pleasant Ridge Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs Zoa R. Anderson on February 7, 1956.
He is survived by two sons, Kenneth Anderson of Derby, and Kirk Anderson, two daughters, Mrs Adalyn Sanderson of Clarinda, and Mrs Maxine Gestrine of Osceola, Nebr; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dr Merrill Anderson of Shenandoah, L.D. Anderson of Onaga, Kans and Clarence Anderson of Portland, Ore; a sister, Mrs Myrtle Harriman of Maryville, Mo.
The funeral service was at the Williams - Foster Mortuary Monday afternoon, the Rev Clarence Moore officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs Grace Perry and Miss Jean Perry. Pallbearers were Delbert Davison, Floyd Kelley, Port Stitt, E. Kincheloe, Keith Kenagy and Raymond Perry. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery. CLARINDA HERALD JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jul 3, 1961
