In the Newspaper Gleaning, Andrew County, Missouri April 1, 1898
Died on the 10th of March 1898, at his home, about 4 miles North of Savannah, Mr. John Stoner. Age 82 years 5 months 6 days. Buried Fairview Cemetery.
Mr Stoner was born in Clark County, Indiana in 1815. Married Rachel Aldhands March 3, 1837. Came to Andrew County in November 1839, being among the very 1st settlers. He has lived here ever since in this county. Leaves wife, 1 son 6 daughters.
