Leslie was raised in Elmira, NY and was a WWII, 20 year, U.S. Navy veteran serving in the sumbarine forces aboard the the Plunger (SS-139), S-38 (SS-143), Salmon (SS-192) and Sirago (SS-485) and Grampus (SS-523). He worked for Belcher and Coastal Oil as the chief engineer on the Virginia B transporting oil from Port Canaveral to the FP&L and Orlando Utilities plants. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy and is survived by step-children, Pamela (Eric) VanHeiningen, Phil (Cindy) Spoerle and Joe (Patty) Spoerle. He was a member of American Legion 359 and Submarine Veterans of WWII. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held November 23, 2011.
