Mrs. Estella McCorkell,83,longtime Akron resident,died Thursday,(August 27,1964) at Akron Hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were 2 p.m.Sunday at the Wesley Methodist Church with Rev. Donald Robert,pastor,officiated.Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. McCorkell,the former Estella Tucker was born Sept. 15,1880 to Preston & Sarah (Strong)Tucker in Dakota Territory,west of Akron.

She moved to Akron as a small child and married Howard McCorkell at Akron on March 27,1901.He died in 1938.

Survivors include seven daughters,Mrs. Esther Clarey of Merrill,Mrs. Alta Mentzer of LeMars,Mrs. Dorothy Whitaker of Ferris,Ill.,Mrs. Evah Olsen of Sioux City,Mrs. Jeanne Esterberg of Alexandria,Minn.,Mrs. Caryl Siebens and Mrs. Lois Nielsen,both of Akron;one son Wesley of Camisota,S.D.;a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Lyons of Sioux City;a brother Emery Tucker of Killborn,Wis.,46 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
